COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The St John’s Geriatric Centre (SJGC) designs and implements programmes aimed at promoting holistic wellness among older adults and their caregivers. These initiatives span multiple domains of well-being, including physical activity, mental and cognitive health, recreation, spirituality, and social engagement.

Current initiatives include:

  • Internal Yoga Programme under the EngAging Positive initiative, promoting healthy ageing among St John’s staff aged 30 years and above.
  • Healthy Ageing Sessions for individuals aged 40 years and above, conducted in external organisations. These sessions are led by a multidisciplinary team comprising a doctor, dietician, and physiotherapist, and focus on ageing successfully through sustainable lifestyle, nutrition, and movement-based interventions.

Several additional community-based wellness programmes, including the establishment of resource room programmes for older adults in the community, are in the pipeline.
