Student Activities

The Students Executive Committee of St John's Medical College has a history as long as the college itself, being established in 1963. Since then, the committee has undergone several changes to its structure to keep up with the dynamic nature of the college.

Currently, the Students Executive Committee consists of 16 members from various courses, elected for a yearly tenure. The committee plays an integral role in the day-to-day functions of the institution and is tasked with conducting the various activities of the student body over the academic year. These activities include:

● Hosting the annual Inter Class Culturals and Inter Class Sports, each covering a wide variety of events, providing a platform for the student body to showcase their talents in various fields and fostering a healthy spirit of competition among the batches
● Hosting the annual intercollegiate cultural fest, Autumn Muse and the annual undergraduate medical conference, Innervate. One of South India’s largest intercollegiate events, Autumn Muse x Innervate is a fest aimed at supporting a cause and sees a footfall of over 10000 students.
● Conducting the annual Christmas celebration, Jingle Rock, an evening of heavenly music, a play that will leave the audience stunned, and a dash of Christmas cheer for everyone
● Overlooking and organizing the activities of the active student clubs. The various clubs function under the purview of at least one member of the student committee. These clubs include:

The committee also serves as a channel of communication between the management and the student body, ensuring that the voice of the students is heard at the level of the management. The Students Executive Committee forms a vital part of the functioning of the student body and seeks to represent the studen's interests and needs and to ensure their well being.

AUTUMN MUSE

One of South India’s largest intercollegiate vests, Autumn Muse has been held by the St Johns National Academy of health sciences for over 30 years, playing host to nearly 10,000 students every year from all corners of the country. Autumn Muse sets itself apart from the rest by being a fest for a cause, donating its proceeds to a charitable cause

INNERVATE

Founded in 2015 as De Novo, the undergraduate medical conference hosted by St Johns Medical College has grown every year. NINNERVATE along with Autumn Muse also works towards a charitable cause, while providing an opportunity to medical students across the country to use the world class facilities available at SJMC to learn new skill sets and to broaden their medical horizons

INTER CLASS CULTURALS + SPORTS

One of St Johns’ oldest traditions, the Inter Class Culturals and Sports form the core of all Johnite activities. Providing a platform for every Johnite to express themselves in events ranging across all art forms and sports, the ICCs and the ICS foster a healthy inter batch rivalry which makes the air on the campus electric.

JINGLE ROCK

Every year, St Johns decks it’s halls with boughs of holly, and enters a month of Christmas cheer, all triggered by the annual Christmas celebration, Jingle Rock. A night of music and theatre, Jingle Rock holds a special place in the heart of every Johnite.
