Drishti provides comprehensive promotive, preventive and curative eye care services to over 120 villages around 4 Primary Health Centres in Bangalore Urban and Kolar districts. Every Tuesday of the week, Ophthalmologists from SJMCH visit the CHTC, conduct screening for cataract and other eye problems. The patients diagnosed with cataract are referred to SJMCH for surgery at a lower cost. 

The Community-Based Health Assistants support basic eye care and lead awareness initiatives through school programs, street plays, and counseling.

School eye-screening services are conducted by the post graduates posted in the CHTC as medical officers along with the CBHAs, which include refraction, diagnosis, management, and referrals, while low-vision assessment and aids are offered through St. John’s Medical College Hospital. Weekly clinics at Mugalur CHTC serve 60- 80 patients, ensuring accessible and community-centred ophthalmic services.
