ICMR - ICRAG 2 - Cross sectional study
Project Description
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) continue to be a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide with a particularly high burden in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) like India. Despite the availability of evidence-based interventions, the prevention and management of CVDs remain challenging due to a multitude of individual and health system factors. Understanding these factors is crucial for developing effective strategies to reduce CVD risk and improve outcomes.
This study addresses the critical need for comprehensive research into the barriers and facilitators influencing CVD risk reduction efforts in India. The rationale for this study stems from the recognition that CVD risk reduction is a multifaceted process influenced by a complex interplay of factors at various levels.
By conducting a cross-sectional study across diverse regions and facilities in India, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the contextual factors influencing CVD risk reduction initiatives. The insights gained from this study will inform the development of tailored interventions aimed at addressing identified barriers and leveraging facilitators to optimize CVD prevention and management strategies.
