The M.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology programme was introduced in the year 2025 with the objective of producing highly skilled, competent, and ethically grounded imaging professionals capable of meeting the growing demands of modern diagnostic and interventional radiology. The programme is designed to provide advanced theoretical knowledge, hands-on clinical training, and research exposure in the field of medical imaging.

The course focuses on in-depth training across all major imaging modalities including X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and Interventional Radiology, with emphasis on advanced imaging protocols, radiation safety, quality assurance, image optimization, and patient care. Students are trained to work closely with well trained Radiographer and experienced clinical teams, contributing effectively to accurate diagnosis and image-guided therapeutic procedures.

The programme also offers exposure to advanced interventional imaging techniques, including image-guided biopsies, vascular and non-vascular interventions, neuro-interventional procedures, and emergency imaging services. 

Training is imparted by experienced Radiologists, senior faculty members, qualified radiographers, and technical experts, ensuring a balanced blend of academic rigor and clinical excellence. Students gain extensive practical experience using modern imaging equipment, including high-end CT and MRI scanners, advanced ultrasound systems, digital radiography units, fluoroscopy suites, and specialized interventional setups.

The M.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology programme also encourages research, academic development, and professional growth, preparing graduates for careers in clinical imaging, teaching, research, healthcare administration, and advanced subspecialty imaging roles. Graduates are trained to adapt to technological advancements and contribute meaningfully to patient-centered healthcare delivery.

The programme is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, Bengaluru, and follows a structured curriculum in accordance with university and regulatory guidelines, ensuring high academic standards and professional competency.
