Predictors of Pharmacotherapy and Quality of Life Among Patients With Diabetic Foot Syndrome: A Cross-Sectional Study from a Tertiary Care Hospital in India

Diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) is a serious and economically demanding complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2DM).1 The proportion of hospitalized patients affected with DFS is around 7% of the global inpatient population.2 Patients who have type 2 DM are 15 times more likely to undergo amputations, and about 85% of nontraumatic amputations are because of DM.3,4 Hypertension (35%), visual problems (62%), and ischemic heart disease (7%) were the common comorbidities reported in DFS patients. 5
