Consultancy Policy
St. John's Medical College, established in 1988 by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI), is dedicated to training healthcare professionals to serve the underserved. The college maintains a strict environment regarding student conduct, safety, and professional standards through several key policies.
Core Campus Policies
Anti-Ragging: Ragging is defined as any act that detracts from human dignity or uses criminal force against a student. It is a cognizable offense under the Karnataka Education Act and the Indian Penal Code, punishable by imprisonment, fines, or expulsion from the college.
Dress Code & ID Cards: Students must wear their ID cards at all times on campus, including in the hospital, mess, and library. Formal dress is required, and aprons (lab coats) are mandatory during clinicals and practicals.
Substance Abuse: The college maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward substance abuse. Any student found possessing alcohol or narcotic drugs will be debarred from the campus.
Sexual Harassment: Through the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), the college commits to a work environment where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, explicitly stating that no form of sexual harassment will be tolerated.
Student Support & Governance
Mentorship & Counseling: A Mentorship Programme pairs students with faculty mentors for academic and personal guidance. Additionally, dedicated student counselors are available by appointment every day of the week.
Student Disciplinary Committee: This body works to protect student rights, maintain campus decorum, and ensure fair hearings for code of conduct breaches.
