Molecular profiling of metastatic non-small cell lung carcinoma: Real-word analysis from a tertiary care centre in India
Background
GLOBOCAN 2022 data has shown lung cancer to be the fourth most common malignancy among Indians. Lung malignancies also account for 8.2% of cancer related mortality. Identification of targetable driver mutations has revolutionized the management of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), there exists a significant geographical variation in the occurrence of these driver mutations, thus making characterization of the real-word patterns within the Indian population a necessity.
Methods
In this hospital based analysis we studied 104 consecutive patients of metastatic NSCLC. Clinical presentation, demographics and the molecular analysis were studied. Molecular analysis was done by means of either an NGS hot spot testing or a more restricted panel of EGFR, ALK and ROS genes.
