Interventional Radiology(IR)

Interventional Radiology(IR)

Interventional Radiology (IR) offers a broad spectrum of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat complex neuro, vascular, and organ-related conditions, with smaller incisions, reduced pain, and faster recovery.

Neuro and Vascular interventions include:

  • Cerebral angiography, spinal angiography, selective and peripheral angiography
  • Acute stroke intervention- thrombolysis / thrombectomy
  • Aneurysm coiling, balloon-assisted coiling, stent-assisted coiling
  • Carotid and intracranial stenting
  • Middle meningeal artery embolisation, inferior petrosal sinus sampling
  • Peripheral angioplasty and stenting
  • AV fistulogram, venography, peripheral vein thrombolysis
  • IVC filter placement and retrieval
  • Endovascular radiofrequency ablation for Varicose vien

Embolisation and tumor-directed therapies include:

  • Embolisation of vascular lesions, liquid embolisation of vascular malformations, AVM/AVF embolisation
  • Pre-operative tumor embolisation, visceral embolisation, GI bleeder embolisation
  • Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids
  • Transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE)

Hepatobiliary, and renal interventions include:

  • PTBD (Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage) and PTC (percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography)
  • Biliary plasty and biliary stenting
  • Percutaneous cholecystostomy
  • Percutaneous nephrostomy
  • Trans-jugular liver biopsy
  • TIPS procedure

Spine, bone, tumor, and pain-management procedures include:

  • Intervertebral disc ablation
  • Radiofrequency ablation of tumors
  • CT-guided intrathecal injections and targeted epidural blood patches
  • Thyroid alcohol ablation
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Ultrasound-guided steroid injections

Vascular access and dialysis-related procedures include:

  • Tunneled catheter placement and permanent catheter insertion
  • PICC line placement and chemoport insertion
  • Hemodialysis fistula revision and AV fistulograms

Supportive, drainage, and other image-guided procedures include:

  • Nasojejunal and gastrostomy tube placements
  • Image-guided drainage of collections and abscesses under CT or ultrasound guidance
  • FNAC, targeted biopsies (renal, breast, tumor, bone)
