Doctor advises admission and hands over the papers (1. Admission Advice Form 2. Admission Record 3. Medication Record) along with the OP Record to You.Report to Nursing AIDE at the concerned OP Clinic.Give your consent for admission. Amenities

We have a full- fledged dietary section and canteen which supplies vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meals to our patients as well as attendants on request. Around 4500 meals a day are supplied by the canteen to the various wards.We have beverage vending machines located in different areas of the hospital (OPD as well as In patient wards) which cater to the large volume of staff, patients and visitors in our hospital.The parking space on the premises has a capacity to accommodate around 750 cars and 2000 two-wheelers.We have the Bank of Baroda John Nagar Branch attached to our premises as well as 7 ATM machines located all over the institute campus. Apart from Bank of Baroda, we house ATM machines from the Federal Bank and the South Indian Bank. Blood Transfusion Services

Blood Bank• The Blood Bank works 24 x7 to cater to the blood component requirements of the hospital. We were one of the first to prepare components and have been preparing components since 1990. Currently we are preparing components in more than 98% of collections.• The Serology section has an automated system (IH500) for reporting of blood groups and other immunohaematological tests. The Blood bank has facilities to investigate for red cell antibody screening and identification.• The blood bank also has facilities for Platelet pheresis to cater to patients with thrombocytopenia. The blood bank provides transfusion support to patients with haemophilia and related bleeding disorders and thalassemia• The Department has also started a post graduate course in transfusion Medicine and Immunohematology in 2016.• M.Sc MLT ( Haematology and Blood Transfusion) course is also being conducted uder the RGUHS• The department has started molecular diagnostics laboratory with an aim to offer molecular diagnosis for comprehensive care of our patients

Critical Care

IntroductionThe Department of Critical Care Medicine was established in 2010 growing from an intensive care unit which had been established in 1990. This speciality of Medicine caters to looking after critically ill patients from medical and surgical specialities with life threatening conditions and multiorgan failure requiring comprenhensive and constant monitoring often not possible in the regular wards.We run a 30 bedded ICU with sophisticated equipment in the 2nd floor of the Silver Jubilee Block building. We provide round the clock evidence based and affordable care to our patients with our dedicated team of qualified intensivists, critical care nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and medical social workers. It is also a centre of academic excellence with a prestigious DM Critical Care programme and active involvement in research with many publications in nation and international journals to its name.Work at ICUThe patients are given care by qualified intensivists, resident doctors and nursing staff .The department has its own evidence based protocol to provide quality care at all times to critically ill patients. Day Care

Old Day Care was started in 1999 and New Oncology Day Care was started in April 2015 with the objectives of:-• Treating patients with Thalassemia• To reduce their duration of hospital stay and To facilitate the patients with minor surgeries• Oncology Day care takes care of all Children with thalassemia and their chemotherapy treatment.• In the day care only short duration of stay in which transfusions and minor surgeries are done.  Usually patients with thalassemia come for blood transfusion.• Patient get admitted in the day care for procedures like Bone Marrow, Lumbar Puncture, Excisions, Lithotripsy  and for Epidural injections and after procedure they go home.• Oncology day care usually function for Paediatric Thalassemia’s and chemotherapies of both adults and children.

Emergency / Trauma

The Department of Emergency Medicine was started in July 1998, under the leadership of Dr. Mabel Vasnaik.• It was one of the earliest few fully developed, modern emergency departments in the country.• The primary mission of the department is to provide timely, efficient and guideline-based acute care to patients with emergencies of all specialties, including Medical, Surgical, Obstetric, Paediatric, Trauma and all other super and subspecialties.• The department has been conducting a post-MBBS certificate course in emergency medicine since 2002, with an intake of 12 students per year. An MCI recognised MD Emergency Medicine course was begun in 2011.• The department is an AHA-accredited international training centre for conducting Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses and these courses are conducted every month. An Emergency Medicine Technician course was started in 2015.• We also conduct the Emergency Trauma Life Support course, developed by our own faculty.• As a routine, the department functions 24/7/365 days to handle emergencies with well-trained, capable senior and junior staff available around the clock.• An 8-bedded Intensive Care Unit is an integral part of the department where emergencies of all specialties are admitted and stabilised. Carry bags are available on payment.Return of medicines will be accepted for valid reason within 15 days of the purchase. Visitor Hours

Visitors are not allowed unless they the carry an Attender Pass or Food Pass. One Attender Pass and one Food Pass will be issued at the time of admission. This must be returned to the Ward Staff at the time of discharge.
