Professor of Clinical Psychology
I am the Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry. I work with children and adolescents. I have been with St. John's since 1996 and have been instrumental in starting the Child Psychology services as well as the Consultation Liaison services with Pediatrics. My areas of interest are Autism Spectrum Disorders, Children with chronic medical illness and its psychological ramifications, Anxiety in children and parental accommodation. I am also the Head of the Center for Advanced Research and Excellence in Autism and other Developmental Disorders (CARE ADD) in St. John's.
I have done my Bachelors degree in Psychology, Masters in Clinical Psychology - both these from University of Mumbai, MPhil in Medical and Social Psychology and PhD in Clinical Psychology - both these from NIMHANS, Bangalore
I have over 28 years of experience in working with children and adolescents with all types of neurodevelopmental, emotional and behavioral concerns.
My main areas of interest are early identification of autism, assessments of autism and learning difficulties in children, anxiety in children and parenting practices.
