World Kidney Day 2026 Celebration by Department of Nephrology
1. Academic Discussion on 10th March 2026
As part of World Kidney Day on 10th March 2026, a collaborative academic discussion was held in association with the Departments of Gastroenterology and Urology. The discussion focused on immunosuppression in kidney transplantation, highlighting current practices, challenges, and advances in post-transplant patient management. The session was followed by a lunch meeting, which provided an opportunity for interdisciplinary interaction and knowledge sharing among participants.
2. Student Competition – 11 March 2026
To mark World Kidney Day a competition was organized on 11 March 2026 (Wednesday) for the students and interns of the BSc Renal Dialysis (Allied Health Sciences) program. The event was conducted on the 7th Floor, B-Block, St. John’s Hospital. The competition aimed to encourage student participation and enhance their knowledge and awareness about kidney health and renal care.
3. Street Awareness Program
In collaboration with the Nursing College, a street awareness program was organized to educate the public about kidney health and disease prevention. During the program, Dr. Prashant delivered an important message emphasizing the importance of maintaining kidney health, early detection of kidney disease, and adopting healthy lifestyle practices to prevent kidney-related complications.
These activities were conducted successfully and contributed to spreading awareness about kidney health while promoting academic engagement among students and healthcare professionals as part of the World Kidney Day celebrations.
