Dr. Verghese A. Thomas is a public health and health informatics researcher serving as a core member of the Division of Medical Informatics at St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) in Bengaluru. He works alongside colleagues in the division to advance interdisciplinary research focused on improving health systems, digital health solutions, and human-centered approaches to healthcare innovation.
Dr. Thomas’s research interests span primary health care, health informatics, and the design and evaluation of digital health tools tailored for use in low- and middle-income country (LMIC) settings. Among his scholarly contributions is co-authorship of The Vinyasa Tool for mHealth Solutions, a framework published in JMIR Formative Research that supports human-centered design processes for mHealth systems — underscoring his expertise in bridging clinical needs with practical digital solutions.
