I am a Dentist by professional training and have completed my Master’s in Health Administration.
My interest in digital health began in early 2000’s and coupled with my fascination with developing innovative education methods compelled me to learn about virtual and augmented reality in conveying medical concepts. Working in the Division of Medical Informatics since 2002 and having access to innumerable resources, I was able to launch a Health Informatics Kiosk in the year 2007. With this background, I have been a part of the advisory working group for the Ministry of Health, Government of India to architect the National Health Portal and have served as a member of the Content advisory committee for the health portal. Subsequently, I was able to deliver innovative and interactive educational modules to renowned organizations.
I have worked on several NIH-sponsored R01 Research Projects. The DriSti study, in particular, there was a need to develop and study the efficacy of a novel tablet-based interventional approach to reduce HIV stigma among healthcare staff in India. To this effect, I have been hired by the UNAIDS Technical Support Mechanism for the 'Development of an E-learning module for stigma and discrimination reduction for nursing and medical students in Thailand between July 2020 - Aug 2021. I’ve recently been involved in a multi-center innovation project to develop and test a unique secure ultrasound device for antenatal screening in resource-limited settings. I also oversee and manage Startup entrepreneurs working at the St Johns Health Innovation Foundation.

In the last 20 years, I have helped develop several digital solutions, mHealth applications, innovative digital health platforms as well as medical device validations within St. John’s. My passion for using digital health advancements to improve healthcare in resource-limited environments has led me to explore cutting-edge interventions and health informatics research. My goal is to integrate health technologies into medical education, healthcare delivery, and research. This will ultimately allow for more affordable, accurate, and accessible care for everyone.
